Drywall

Drywall repair, one vetted pro at a time

A hole from a doorknob, cracks over the doors, a ceiling stain after a leak. Describe it and Roger books one local drywall pro and confirms the time.

What is Roger?

One description. One vetted pro. Booked.

Roger books drywall repair with one vetted local pro across the United States and Canada, instead of selling your details to several. Describe the damage and roughly how big it is (a photo helps), and Roger assigns one pro and confirms the appointment. Homeowners pay Roger nothing.

FAQ

Drywall questions, answered

My ceiling is sagging and stained. What do I do?+

Treat a sagging, wet ceiling as urgent. Water can pool above drywall and bring it down. Keep people out from under it, move furniture and electronics away, and put a bucket underneath. Shut off the water if a pipe is the cause, and turn off power to light fixtures in that area if water is near them. The leak gets fixed first (plumbing or roofing), and the drywall gets replaced once everything is dry.

Can drywall be patched over a water stain?+

Only after the leak is fixed and the drywall has fully dried. A stain on a dry, solid ceiling can often be sealed with a stain-blocking primer and repainted. Drywall that is soft, crumbly or smells musty should be cut out and replaced, because it can hold mold.

Is there anything to watch for in an older home?+

Yes. In homes built before the 1980s, joint compound and textured popcorn ceilings can contain asbestos, so have them tested before anyone sands or scrapes. Walls also hide wiring, pipes and ductwork, so openings should be cut carefully and shallow.

Does Roger charge homeowners anything?+

No. Roger is free for homeowners. The pro you are matched with charges for the work, and Roger does not add a markup on top of their price.
