FAQ

The questions you came here to ask.

How does Roger pick the contractor?+

A deterministic algorithm scores every eligible contractor in your ZIP and category on five public inputs: rating average (50%), completion rate (20%), acceptance rate (15%), response speed (10%), and recency (5%). The highest score wins, subject to a fairness cap. Full detail is on the How we match page.

What does Roger cost the homeowner?+

Nothing. The price you see is the price the contractor quoted, plus standard sales tax. Roger doesn't add a service fee, a convenience fee, or a credit-card surcharge, ever.

What does Roger cost the contractor?+

Either 10% of the closed job (off the top of the Stripe payout) or a flat $300–$500/mo per category per metro for unlimited matches. Month-to-month, switch any time. No per-lead fees.

Why one contractor instead of a shortlist?+

Because "pick from a list" ends with five contractors all calling you at once. Roger picks one. If they decline or don't respond in 15 minutes, it routes to the next-best, so you never become the product in a bidding war.

Is my phone number safe?+

Yes. Your phone is encrypted at intake, exposed only to the matched contractor after they accept, and auto-redacted 30 days after the job is complete. It's never sold or shared.

How am I protected on Roger?+

Every pro's license and insurance are verified and shown before you book, not just claimed. You see the price up front, your number stays private, and every match is logged and explainable. You're choosing a vetted local pro with a real track record, not a stranger off a list.

What if I need to cancel, or a pro no-shows?+

Cancel before a pro accepts and you owe nothing. Cancel after they're booked and a small trip fee may apply, depending on timing. If a pro you booked doesn't show, you're not charged for a visit that didn't happen, and Roger lines up another pro.

What trades does Roger cover?+

Every major home trade, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, handyman, appliance repair, roofing, painting, flooring, garage door, locksmith, and more. Tell Roger what's wrong and we match you with a vetted local pro for it.

Where does Roger work?+

Nationwide. Roger takes requests across the country and matches you with a vetted local pro in your area. Where the network's already deep, you're matched in minutes; where it's still filling in, we line up the right local pro, and if one isn't on board yet, we go find them.
